Courses related to Code 95 (CBR / CCV recognized)

As of September 10, 2008, truck drivers will have different rules regarding professional competence. For truck drivers, these came into effect on September 10, 2009. These new rules are the result of the Code 95 Professional Competence Directive. This Directive should, inter alia, ensure:

  • Fewer road deaths in Europe;
  • A reduction in CO2 emissions;
  • Improving the image of the professional driver.

As of September 10, 2008, truck drivers are required to attend at least 35 hours of refresher courses every 5 years. At least 7 hours of these 35 hours must consist of practical training. For truck drivers this training started on March 1, 2009. Only courses that are certified by the CCV count for the training.

Anyone who obtains their professional skills from September 10, 2008 (truck) or September 10, 2009 (truck) must shy away from this every 5 years by means of refresher courses. A transitional arrangement of 7 years applies to existing drivers.

If the compulsory training for drivers is not met, the code 95 expires and he or she may no longer practice the course. Only by following the compulsory training of drivers can he become skilled again.
